Court Cleaning & Maintenance

All court surfaces require periodic maintenance whether a traditional hard court or a more specialised surface - as regular maintenance will improve the quality of the playing surface and increase the life expectancy of the court.

For porous macadam surfaces the court should be treated for moss and algae using special products that will not attack the bitumen binder, this should be done on an annual basis and followed up by pressure washing using proper equipment. The courts should be kept free from leaves and general detritus by regular brushing and good general house keeping.

After about 5 years depending on use - Macadam Courts will require repainting and line marking, a service that we are only too pleased to carry out. After approximately 10 years of use the courts are ready to be resurfaced.

For artificial grass and clay surfaces regular brushing and topping up of the silica infill will ensure that the wear is kept to a minimum. Power grooming and contra-brushing are essential to ensure that the surface lives up to its expectations. We offer maintenance packages tailored made to suit your budgets and requirements.

As the surface becomes older it may lose its porosity due to contamination of the surface, this requires a more sophisticated form of maintenance in the form of 'rejuvenation' where the top 6mm of contaminated material is extracted using special patented equipment, fresh silica infill replaces the contaminated material and is brushed in thoroughly using sand spreaders to ensure that the correct levels are achieved giving the surface a new lease of life before resurfacing takes place.

After REJUVENATION

REJUVENATION is a patented process which can often double the playing life of sand-filled synthetic grass sports surfaces for less than a quarter of the cost of installing a new carpet surface.

REJUVENATION can restore - virtually to 'as new' condition - sand-filled carpet surfaces that have become contaminated, compacted and slow-draining. REJUVENATION will restore:

  • Porosity and free drainage.
  • Playing performance.
  • Players' comfort and safety.
  • The appearance of the surface.

REJUVENATION achieves this, in essence, by removing the whole contaminated top layer of sand, using a process that does not damage the carpet pile.

  • Compressed air is used to extract the contaminated sand.
  • The sand remaining in the carpet is aerated and decompacted.
  • The pile is cleaned and restored to vertical.
  • Any weak seams are repaired.
  • New, clean sand is spread over the revitalised pile, worked in and regulated.

As well as costing far less than the alternative of renewing the carpet, REJUVENATION takes only a few days at most, minimising loss of playing time and revenue.
