Maintaining Your MUGA – Part 2: Reactive Maintenance
Following on from our blog post in May which features tips on how to carry out proactive maintenance on your multi use games area (MUGA), this article will provide useful advice on reactive maintenance so you can decide which form of action will best suit your requirements. What is reactive maintenance? As opposed to proactive maintenance which puts preventative measures in place before any damage occurs, as the name suggests reactive repair maintenance fixes damage which has already been done to the surface. There are several reasons why a MUGA may suffer from problems, including:- Overuse
- Vandalism
- Lack of planning or a suitable proactive care programme
- Seam and joint repairs if the surface has ripped
- Surface de-compaction and infill cleaning/top up
- Reline marking
- Repainting
- New anti-slip coatings
- Rejuvenation and renovation
